Inspired by the personality, life and work of one of my heroines - Ludvika Smrčková, the first Czech female designer in the Czechoslovak glassmaking industry. She devoted her whole life to education, travel and mainly to GLASS. She endeavored to bring designs used in hand production, such as engraving, sandblasting and coloring, into serial production. Rückl was the only glassworks between WWI and WWII able to execute Ludvika avantgarde designs. The cut pattern on the LUDVIKA vase from the HERO.INE limited collection was inspired by typical elements this designer used, such as wide facets, alternating surfaces, generosity and elegance of shape and daring rawness. The rounded fluting covering the entire length of the vase are rhythmically interrupted by sharp cuts disrupting the perfect geometry of the design, creating sophisticated dynamics and tension in the shape.
